Assessments
Each module will have four multiple choice questions. Students will have unlimited attempts to answer these questions. A certificate of completion will be issued once all of the assessments have been completed.
Course description
In this course both the science and practice of nutrition is explained in a way that is relevant and exciting with the aim of helping you make smart nutritional decisions. The course has been designed to help you understand some of the nuances of nutrition
and provides reasons for the noise and confusion. You will be guided through the fundamental principles of nutrition and some of the current controversies, and will systematically be shown how to negotiate this space to make informed decisions,
and to also understand when it may be necessary to seek professional help. Throughout this process you will be given solid and cutting edge advice with plenty of practical examples.This course is taught via videos, interviews, screencasts,
and power point presentations and is broken down into manageable and actionable modules

Previous experience and knowledge is not required.

Shelly Meltzer RD (SA) MSc (Med) Nutrition & Dietetics
As a registered dietitian, author, teacher, researcher, and consultant dietitian with over 30 years of clinical, community and sports nutrition experience, Shelly brings a lifetime of learning and experience to this course. Having set up the dietary practice and nutrition services at the Sport Science Institute of South Africa, she has been at the forefront of nutrition research and practice, and whether it is feeding her family or international sports teams, and/or advising her clients, Shelly has always come up with innovative best practice approaches integrating the health and joy of food . |
